Project DAYLIGHT Launches Today!

Three years, two full rebuilds and one very stubborn idea later, Project DAYLIGHT is live on Steam, Windows and Mac. Here is what shipped this morning — and what comes next.

day one build, 10:00

At ten this morning the build we had been staring at since 2023 stopped being ours. Project DAYLIGHT is out, and every save file from here on belongs to somebody else. That is the strangest part of a launch day: the work does not end so much as change hands.

The game began as a single question on a whiteboard in a rented room above a noodle shop — what does a hopeful story about a broken world actually look like when you have to play it, not watch it? We answered it badly twice. The third answer became the game you can download today.

Along the way we cut a combat system we loved, rewrote the second act from scratch, and spent an embarrassing number of weeks on how morning light falls across a ruined street. None of that shows up on a store page. All of it is in the fifteen hours you are about to spend with Ren and the dog.

We never set out to make a game about the end of the world. We wanted one about the morning after.

What shipped today

Launch is not the finish line for us. The team is already reading every thread, watching every stream, and writing down the things that made players stop and look. The first content patch is drafted; the roadmap beyond it is being argued over loudly, which is usually a good sign.

Thank you for waiting. Thank you for the fan art we were not expecting, the demo bug reports we badly needed, and the messages from people who told us they needed a hopeful game this year. Go play it. Tell us what you find.
